About the role

You will be in charge of diligently securing the products and services to run our business smoothly. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and consider yourself an exceptional negotiator. You work with integrity to find the best options with the objective to reduce costs, improve results and identify strategic partnerships.

What you’ll be doing

  • Researching potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal
  • Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, reliability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses
  • Assessing vendors and their offerings with in-person visits, interviews, and analysis to assess their quality
  • Contacting a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations
  • Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
  • Attending events, shows, and exhibitions to network with vendors and view new products
  • Maintaining updated records of contracts
  • Identifying synergies with suppliers and creating standardized contracts
  • Creating and maintaining price contracts and purchasing info records

What we’re looking for

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is required
  • 3+ years of experience in Procurement positions are required
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle pressure and changing priorities and goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Great multitasking skills and strong time-management skills
  • Ability to travel to various job sites in Western Canada
