About the role

A Civil Project Coordinator at Westbow Construction will assist various teams from the acquisition of real estate properties, through the development process, and finally constructing all civil servicing infrastructure. You will support the team with the coordination of engineers, consultants and municipal authorities while assisting in the creation and monitoring of project schedules and budgets. Your knowledge and input in civil servicing will be critical to the design and construction of future neighborhoods. You will be responsible for all civil engineering administration including contract management, control, and coordination. You will work with, report to, and directly support a Civil Project Manager.

What you’ll be doing

· Providing administrative support to the Civil Project Manager in all aspects of project management

· Coordinating the design and construction of all civil servicing infrastructure, including, but not limited to earthworks, roadworks, sanitary and storm, water, electrical, telecom, streetlights, and finishing details

· Coordinating civil design with other subject matter experts and professionals including, but not limited to architectural, construction, geotechnical, structural, environmental, etc

· Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project tenders, budgets, and schedules

· Preparing, reviewing, awarding, and monitoring civil contractor bid/tenders and contracts

· Coordinating project information with all stakeholders, including, but not limited to Civil Project Managers, contractors, designers, engineers, and Westbow site staff

· Ensuring proper distribution of project change information and that project site personnel are provided with the most current information

· Assisting the project management team to keep moving the project forward through strong written and verbal communication, document control and awareness of critical timelines

· Attending consultants’ and site meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on correspondence

· Supporting the Development team when applying for city applications, including assembling material, ensuring all conditions are met, and requesting the necessary drawings, reports, and specifications from a consultant team

· Tracking and monitoring all required approvals to ensure timely processing and completion

· Coordinating project insurance, letters of credit, refundable deposits and fees paid for municipal permits

· Preparing a variety of internal and external reports and presentations

· Maintaining and organizing electronic project files

What we’re looking for

· General Knowledge of civil construction and of civil infrastructure practices, materials, methods, and equipment employed in the industry

· Experience with cost estimating, construction budgets, bid/tender process, and contract preparation/administration

· Strong computer skills with competency of Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel)

· Working knowledge of Reevu Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, or equivalent

· Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans, to identify, collect and analyze relevant data from these and other sources and to anticipate and correct for possible conflicts

· Able to read and interpret geo-technical and environmental assessments. To identify, collect and analyze relevant data from these and other sources to anticipate, correct and make recommendation for these assessments

· Must be able to work with constantly changing priorities and to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

· Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic in all aspects of construction and real estate

· Team oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative with proven results

· Valid BC Drivers’ License
