About the role
The Landscape Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day landscaping operations and manage the department, including budgeting and dealing with customers and internal clients. This person will focus on growing the department and make sure all objectives are met. If you have a combination of technical ability and people skills, then this job is for you!

What you’ll be doing
- Overseeing the landscape plan and the team who implements it.
- Scheduling work crews, planning daily work activities, and monitoring the work being done. You may also be responsible for training workers, especially on safety procedures when large equipment or hazardous materials are involved
- Assessing landscapes and their eco-systems, and the long-term care and development of landscape
- Estimating and managing projects
- Monitoring costs and expenditures to ensure projects are staying within budget
- Design landscape plans
- Sourcing and ordering of materials
- Devising management and maintenance plans, to ensure spaces are preserved for future use and enjoyment
- Drawing up contracts and overseeing contractors
What we’re looking for
- Red Seal Horticulture ticket
- Certified Irrigation ticket is an asset
- Business related courses is an asset
- 5+ years experience in Landscape Management is required
- Strong management skills
- Construction equipment knowledge is an asset
- Work-related certificates are an asset
- A valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
