About the role

Reporting to the Customer Care Manager and working closely with the Team Lead, the Customer Care Technician is responsible for conducting repairs for homeowners of Westbow homes and tenants of Prokey Living properties.  The focus of this role is to attain high customer satisfaction by providing quality and timely repairs, as well as providing strong communication throughout the warranty period.

What you’ll be doing

  • Completing repairs on new homes in accordance with the Residential Performance Guide and New Home Warranty
  • Working to actively lower total deficiencies
  • Building relationships with customers and tenants
  • Instructing homeowners on how to perform ongoing maintenance
  • Reporting on daily activities
  • Building and maintaining relationships with contractors
  • Working to actively improve quality by reporting commonly found deficiencies
  • Advising customers on warranty parameters and building standards
  • To represent Westbow’s core values and strive to continuously improve all facets of the role and customer experience
  • Ensuring sufficient follow-up with customers and/or trades to confirm jobs get completed to satisfaction
  • Ensuring health and safety policies are complied with

 

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience
  • Well rounded construction skills including finish carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs.
  • Knowledge around mechanical systems preferred
  • Certification on Forklifts, Genie or other lift machines considered an asset; or willingness to complete training
  • Basic computer usage abilities including the ability to learn and navigate various software
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to travel between local sites as needed, along with a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle
